A leading Nyeri town hotel is looking for an MP who abandoned a bill of about Sh40,000 last week after wining and dining a group of politicians. The MP hosted the entourage of a presidential hopeful who had breakfast at the hotel. Corridors has learnt the legislator was yesterday trying to contact local leaders in Nyeri to help clear the bill and avoid public shame.

Makadara MP Mike Sonko has refused to be admitted to a local hospital for a minor surgery. A week after his doctors advised him to undergo surgery, the lawmaker says local hospitals are not secured enough to guarantee his safety. He was overheard saying that he plans to travel for the surgery to South Africa by road with 200 of his supporters to "give me moral support".

Corridors has been watching emerging cases of illegal land occupation and annexing in Mombasa and adjacent areas where bona fide landowners are slowly being "mobbed" out of their properties by paid locals whose paymasters are some of the MPs from the Coast. This in spite of numerous High Court rulings which police seem to ignore. Corridors is on the trail of one such case in Shanzu and will be shaming the schemers behind the illegal attempts to take over private land.

A clique of politicians scuttled a bid by a media mogul to be appointed the running mate of a prominent presidential hopeful. The clique were upset to think the media mogul was being considered for the post ahead of senior politicians in their party and some threatened to walk away. We are told the prominent politician yielded to pressure from his colleagues.
