The Director of Public Prosecution has written the police to investigate millionaire Raj Devani for alleged misuse of a firearm following a tipoff in Corridors. The DPP's letter is in response to a letter by the security guard Enock Okindo Bikeri who complained that Devani — a relative of fugitive businessman Yagnesh Devani of the Triton Oil scam — assaulted and shot at him with a Smith and Wesson pistol. The letter by the DPP follows a delay by the Parklands police station to investigate the incident.

One of the senior prisons officers seems to have suddenly acquired powers that can only rival the Prisons Commandant Isaiah Osugo. The senior officer, who is two ranks below the commandant, has for unexplained reasons had two armed warders to guard his private home in the Rift Valley. The two officers are collected by a prisons van from the Industrial Area remand prison and taken to her home every day which means the van is not available to deliver the prisoners' food or run other official errands.

Leading aspirants in the Nairobi gubernatorial race are struggling to come up with credible and solid candidates to be their running mates. A decision by one of the aspirants to send out feelers to a former city MP to become his running mate has thrown the ODM camp into disarray. The overtures were made last week during the burial of Maina Kamanda’s mother in Nyandarua and were not taken too well by the opponents of the former MP. However, the former MP used the same forum to turn down any offer to win him over, saying he was in ODM to stay.
