Raila denies talks with Ruto over ICC

By PMPS

Prime Minister Raila Odinga has distanced himself from media reports alleging he held talks with Eldoret North MP William Ruto over the International Criminal  Court case.
In a terse statement sent to newsrooms, Raila said : "I take grave exceptions to fabricated allegations published twice by local daily (Not The Standard)  to the effect that he has been holding meetings with Eldoret North MP  William Ruto."
"The PM wishes to state that the story twice published by a local daily is a lie that has been hawked by a single politician to every newsroom in town which have ignored it, recognizing it for what it is, a cheap lie," the statement read.
The statement also clarified that: "PM's wife, Madam Ida Odinga has not visited Hon Ruto's home, nor met Hon Ruto's wife in recent years. She however stands by her statement of sympathy with Hon Ruto and his family, which she issued after the confirmation of charges against the four suspects by the ICC as an expression of human fellow feeling, not a fight against the Court."
The statement clarified that recent trip to the US was on invitation by the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, and nothing else, nothing to do with the ICC.
"As all Kenyans know, ICC matters are handled at The Hague, in The Netherlands, and not in Atlanta or Tallahassee where the PM was visiting last week," read the statement.
The PM urged all Kenyans to treat the stories and the anonymity of their sources, as fabricated lies that fail the test of credible journalism.
