The case involving the election date that was set for Tuesday and Wednesday at the Court of Appeal has been adjourned to 8th May after the center for Rights Education and Awareness and the Caucus for Women Leadership failed to file a record of appeal in good time.
Appellate judges Samuel Bosire, Martha Koome and Hannah Okwengu ordered the two civic bodies to file a record of appeal within 14 days.
The Judges noted that the case raises pertinent issues and it is important for it to be heard expeditiously to remove the anxiety it has generated across the country.
They said that once the record of appeal is filed, the case should be heard on priority basis.
The organizations are challenging the ruling that was made in February by Justice Mumbi  Ngugi, Philip Shigomero Majanja and Isaac Lenaola that did not give a definite date for the next general elections.
