Musyoka called on all those involved especially Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to settle on a workable date
The date for the next election will be agreed upon after broad discussions to ensure that it is acceptable to all, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has said.
He said though he personally prefers elections in December, it was important for all those involved especially Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to settle on a workable date.
Musyoka was speaking Sunday during the 15th Anniversary celebrations of Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) (K), Nairobi.
The sermon was delivered by Bishop Dr. Harrison Ng'ang'a who called on leaders to be careful with their utterances during public gatherings.
Dr. Ng'ang'a who is also the founder of CFF, urged them to ensure that Kenyans remained united as a priority in order to live harmoniously with one another.
At the same time, the Vice President disclosed that the Cabinet had approved Ksh.2billion that will be used to settle the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in the country, saying that Kenyans had the right to live in any part of the country.
"Kenyans will never again fight one another because of elections", Mr. Musyoka added.
On unity, the Vice President said that he is committed to ensuring that all Kenyans remain united.
Musyoka assured the religious leaders that freedom of worship is guaranteed in the new constitution.
He called on all Kenyans to be tolerant with one another irrespective of their diverse faiths.
Eldoret North Member of Parliament,  William Ruto urged leaders to be careful not to bring in unnecessary friction as the next general election approaches.
He called on them to come together and decide on the election date without any controversy.
