When Palaver called Musalia Mudavadi’s leadership challenge "a modern day David going against Goliath and hoping for a lucky shot with a slingshot!" the embers were not that hot. One week later, the pot boileth over as Musalia covers almost as many frequent flier miles as Raila. He has refused to go the Kasarani delegates way (just ask JJ Kamotho, Raila and Prof Saitoti why) and rubbishes the "Party leader as automatic flag-bearer rule. Hear him: "So what, (Barack) Obama is not the party leader of the US Democratic Party, but he is the president!" Good point Double MM. By the way, who is Obama’s Party Leader?

Vandalism is a major, major headache. In Nairobi, thieves started with road signs, telephone line copper wire, then manhole covers and bridge railings. They have since graduated and are dismantling railway track components putting so many lives at risk, while others are targeting fiber-optic cables, leaving many IT-dependent users like you and me ‘mteja’.

Did you notice that after the IEBC announcement of a polls date, four years, almost to the day, William Ruto, Martha Karua and Raila Odinga found themselves, for the first time, fighting from the same corner. But now Raila has issues. First he refused to go to Kenyan courts to seek redress in 2008, saying they were beholden to their appointing authority. Then he was unhappy with the IEBC predecessor (ECK). This week, he disagreed with the ECK successor and loudly felt the courts might be using the same unit of measure of 2008. Wonder whether we shall see him dashing to the Constitutional Court to file an injunction against the March 4, 2013 date. And will the courts entertain the application? Just a thought.

And finally...

Remember fiery Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakahn warning on February 27th that racial hatred could lead to attempts to assassinate President Barack Obama? Interesting coming from a man who has in the past referred to Obama as a "murderer and assassin". Then this week, information emerges that documents recovered at Osama bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan say the Al Qaeda leader instructed his followers to assassinate Obama. Funny though that Obama got Osama first.
