East African gospel star Rose Muhando is the artiste to join global recording company Sony Music Entertainment. The signing was announced at a press conference in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on February 9 and is the first deal of its kind for East Africa.
Undoubtedly one of Africa’s biggest selling and most acclaimed gospel artistes, with millions of fans throughout East Africa and her home country Tanzania, the gospel diva has now been signed to a multi-album recording deal with Sony Music, and a full services management deal with Sony Music and ROCKSTAR4000.
Sony Music Entertainment Africa views the continent as a highly important music development frontier and believes that some of the best talent in the world is currently creating and performing music across the continent. Sony has set its sights on becoming the primary partner of the best Africa has to offer and has high hopes that with its assistance, African musicians can achieve new pan African and global success. 'It's a new and exciting time for amazing talent and music from Africa to shine and we are thrilled to have a star like Rose as part of the family and to represent Rose through the next chapter of her very successful career," said Jandre Louw, CEO of ROCKSTAR4000 Music Entertainment.
