It seems that whatever Royal Media Services boss SK Macharia gets up to in his Gatanga home is of great interest to someone. Video clips doing the rounds show him separately receiving Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka and Internal Security minister George Saitoti at his home on different dates last month. One of the clips — five minutes long — shows Kalonzo arriving in a blue chopper with a yellow stripe registration no 5y-ENG which lands in a banana plantation. Thereafter, the clip shows SK Macharia escorting Kalonzo back to the chopper. They walk up and down in front of the chopper chatting before they hug goodbye and Kalonzo, and the CEO of a top city hospital, enter the chopper and leave. The same clip also shows George Saitoti walking out of SK Macharia's house. Macharia escorts Saitoti to a convoy of vehicles parked outside.

It seems there is no love lost between Kalonzo and some MPs in his Wiper Democratic Party. At least, that is what you would have got if you were in Parliament Buildings yesterday. Mutito MP Kiema Kilonzo and his Juja colleague William Kabogo were walking together when they met with Kalonzo. Both MPs stretched out their hands to greet the VP. Kalonzo warmly grabbed at Kabogo's hand and pulled him aside, completely ignoring Kiema's outstretched hand.

A top presidential aspirant confronted the daughter of a Cabinet minister last Sunday during the Machakos G7 rally and demanded to know why she had made disparaging remarks about his party a day earlier in Ngong. The politician was not amused that the woman, who was previously his ally, had abandoned his party and joined the bandwagon of his rival. Attempts by the man's protocol officer to get her off the VIP dais failed.

The chair of one of the statutory commissions is so indecisive that his deputy has now taken on the man's responsibilities— making management decisions and even sometimes overruling the chairman in meetings!
