Kathangu brother to oppose Mbarire

Share/Save/Bookmark A younger brother of former Runyenjes MP Njeru Kathangu yesterday declared interest to gun for the seat. The seat is currently held by Tourism assistant minister Cecily Mbarire. John Njiru Kathangu, a teacher by profession and a salesman with the Oxford University Press, said he is ready to face off the assistant minister in the next general election. He said being a professionally trained teacher and having had experience in salesmanship he has what it takes to be an effective MP and that he understands very well the needs of the Runyenjes people.
He said he will work together with the Kenya Airport Authority Chairman Martin Nyagah Wambora who has declared interest to vie for one of the senior offices in the county. Wambor had two weeks declared to gun for the top seat at a funds drive for the construction of Kanja Seventh Day Adventist Church in Runyenjes constituency. The governor seat has up to date attracted several aspirants who also include DP Deputy secretary General Dr Njagi Kumantha, former Ambassador Sylvester Gakumu, Siakago MP Lenny Kivuti amongst other.
