Mr Salat said the party failed to field a candidate in the Kamukunji by-election because of Uhuru’s alleged association with PNU.
"The head (chairman) has become a problem to the body (members) and it is about time that problem is solved once and for all," he said.
Salat added: "The best Uhuru can do is to resign from his party position and shift to PNU, UDM or any other party he deems fit and leave those of us who are genuine members and officials to run the party."
The secretary general claimed that Uhuru refused to sign nomination documents for former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua as the party’s nominee in the by-election.

"The chairman declined to countersign the nomination documents after I appended mine for the party nominee sending the process in disarray," he said.
The former Bomet MP said the party would petition the election disputes court to bar the chairman from holding the entire party to ransom and conducting its affairs as a personal property as opposed to a well structured mass movement.
"The chairman’s lack of co-operation with other party officials has denied us the chance to participate in all the by-elections," he said.
National Executive Council (NEC) members Abdulrahman Bafadhil, Edward Oluchiri and John Osongo concurred with Salat saying Uhuru was slowly killing Kanu due to his association with another political party without support from members.
They said there was no National Delegates Conference or NEC meeting that had been convened to sanction the cooperation between PNU and Kanu and accused the chairman making unilateral decisions in key party matters that required consultations and resolutions.
Uhuru is understood to have written to Independent Interim Electoral Commission saying it was only his signature that could clear candidates for by-elections in the country. As per the party
