ODM polls to be held this month

ODM will hold its grassroots elections at the end of this month, the party’s elections board announced on Monday.

The party’s elections board secretary, Dr Joseph Misoi, said the party would hold its elections at the ward level on May 28 and May 29 before conducting the sub-branch polls on May 29.
Voting will he done at the county level on May 30.
It is only after the grassroots elections are concluded that the party will announce the date of the National Delegates Conference (NDC) to pick its national officials, Dr Misoi said.
“We want to finish the grassroots elections first so that we know who our delegates to the NDC are,” the party official said.
The elections were initially scheduled to take place in March but were postponed twice.
Party secretary general Anyang’ Nyong’o said the polls were put off because the long rains in most parts of the country made mobility difficult.
