Share/Save/Bookmark ODM has cried foul over the court ruling stopping the Kamukunji by-election claiming it was politically motivated. Ministers Musalia Mudavadi, Fred Gumo, Elizabeth Ongoro, Mahmud Mohamed, MP Cyprian Omolo and Nairobi Mayor George Aladwa while condemning the ruling claimed it was influenced by PNU. “This is not an ordinary ruling, we read politics in this and we know that some forces behind the ruling that often sensed defeat and rushed to court to frustrate the process,” Gumo said.
Asked by journalists whom they suspected were behind the ruling, they answered in unison ‘PNU’ during a press conference convened at the Orange house. They said PNU had sensed defeat and sought solace at the courts, an allegation that PNU has vehemently denied.

We must fight impunity at all costs including state sponsored impunity,” Ms Ongera added.
PNU Organizing secretary Maina Kamanda denied that PNU was involved saying the party was equally surprised and angered by the decision. “If anything, PNU should be the one complaining most because opinion and intelligence indicated our candidate was far ahead of the other candidates,” Kamanda added.
Yesterday, ODM warned that it will punish justice Musinga and other judges when the vetting of magistrates and judges commences. “Let vetting begin and such judges should prepare to go home immediately. We will ensure he goes home to do other things,” Gumo declared.
