President Kibaki is expected to travel to Kampala, Uganda Wednesday to attend the swearing-in and inauguration ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni.
The swearing-in and inauguration ceremony will be held at Kololo Ceremonial Ground in Kampala Thursday.
The plane carrying the President and his entourage is expected to depart Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly before 4.00 pm.
During his trip the President is expected to attend a tripartite meeting of the leaders of Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Uganda.
Later at his hotel, the Head of State will also meet with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Meles Zenawi.
President Museveni's swearing-in comes in the wake of food protests in the capital Kampala, which led to the arrest of opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye.
Dr Besigye suffered multiple injuries and sought treatment at the Nairobi Hospital. He was discharged on Friday last week.
The opposition leader was due to fly to Uganda Wednesday but he was blocked from boarding a flight to Entebbe.
