Share/Save/Bookmark Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe has said he will rally his colleagues to support the appointment of Willy Mutunga and Nancy Baraza as Chief Justice and Deputy Chief Justice respectively.
Kajembe said the process that led to the nomination of the two lawyers was done according to the constitution. “I fully support the nomination of the CJ, the deputy CJ and Keriako Tobiko as Director of Public Prosecutions,” said Kajembe.
He was speaking at the weekend during St Charles Lwanga Secondary School’s prize giving day, "I will make sure all MPs support the nomination so we can move this country forward,”said the Environment assistant minister.
Kajembe said he is confident that Parliament will approve the three nominations. He said there are more reformists in Parliament than anti-reformists.
Elsewhere, Maragwa MP Elias Mbau yesterday warned that there are two MPs who have been hired by a certain politician to discredit Mutunga and Baraza.
He said the two have received money as incentives to tarnish the characters of the two. “We are aware that two of our notorious colleagues have been paid and given some documents to unleash on the day MPs will be debating on the nominations of the two.I urge Kenyans to switch on their TV and watch the two badly behaved members,”Mbau said.
He said the nominees have enjoyed an overwhelming national support but evil people are going round opposing and scandalising them. Mutito MP Kiema Kilonzo said he has mobilised over 150 in support of the nominations. He however expressed shock that some MPs in Ukambani are lukewarm on the nomination despite the national support already received.
