Share/Save/Bookmark SABOTI MP Eugene Wamalwa has said that Eldoret North MP William Ruto and Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta must support him for presidency in 2012.
Wamalwa said Uhuru and Ruto’s communities have been supported by Luhyas in the past and it is now time for the two tribes to reciprocate.  “We have supported other tribes for the top job and they now pay back by supporting me next year. I am serious with my presidential ambitions,” said Wamalwa.
Wamalwa said the Ikolomani by-election will define the political landscape in Western province, noting the battle in 2012 will be between Luhyas and Luos.
Eugene was speaking at Lwanaswa in Ikolomani constituency where he campaigned for Khalwale’s re-election. He was accompanied by Housing minister Soita Shitanda and former Budalangi MP Raphael Wanjala.
Wanjala said that should Uhuru insist on running for presidency, he will face Wamalwa on a New Ford Kenya ticket to force a run off. He told a cheering crowd that Wamalwa will be supported by all other tribes across the country in case of a run off with Uhuru.
Wamalwa is part of the G7 that consists of Uhuru, Ruto, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Najib Balala, Omingo Magara and Aden Duale. Kalonzo was reported to be working on Plan B after realising the group is slowly sidelining him.    A fortnight ago, while addressing a political rally in his Malava constituency, Shitanda said the Luhya community will support one of their own for presidency in 2012.
Shitanda whose sentiments were echoed by nominated MP Musikari Kombo told Ruto who was present and Uhru to back a Luhya because their tribes had already ruled the country. Yesterday, Wamalwa said he is teaming up with like minded politicians from across the country to bring about the much needed change.
