Share/Save/Bookmark A Catholic priest walked out of a burial ceremony at a village Kisumu when he found most of the mourners taking lunch at a nearby tent. The priest arrived at the ceremony at 2 pm in Bar Ogwal village and became angry when he was informed that most of the mourners had already gone for lunch.
The priest walked out of the homestead and refused to be mollified by the grieving family members. He even ordered the catechists present not to conduct the burial prayers.
The family, especially the deceased's widow who is an official of the local Catholic church, were left with no option but to continue with the burial without the presence of the church leaders. The deceased was an employee of the Kisumu’s Ramogi Institute.
