The grand coalition was formed as a result of the disputed 2007 general election
Majority of Kenyans would like the grand coalition to last until the next election.
According to the latest poll by Synovate released on Wednesday, 78% of Kenyans would like the grand coalition to last up to 2012.
2000 adult Kenyans were interviewed for the survey which was conducted between 27th march-1st  April, 2011.
North Eastern Province had the highest number of those who want the coalition to last up to next year with 91pc.
Nyanza province follows closely at 86pc, Rift Valley (79pc), Central (75pc) Eastern (72pc) Nairobi (72 pc) and Coast (71pc).
The poll further reveals that 74 percent of Kenyans are confident that the coalition will survive.
Western province had the highest support recording 81pc while Nairobi and Coast provinces had the least support of 70 pc respectively.
The research findings have been released at a time when they are political realignments taking place.
It also comes in the wake of supremacy battles involving coalition partners ODM and PNU.
The wrangles have also threatened to derail the implementation of the new constitution as the infighting has spilled to parliamentary committees.
In February PNU members had threatened to pull out of the coalition.
They cited constant wrangles between the coalition partners as the main reason for seeking dissolution of the coalition which was formed as a result of a dispute of the 2007 presidential election tally.
