RE: HATE SPEECH, REQUESTING YOUR URGENT ATTENTION

Dear Sir

I once again humbly write to you to intervene in a matter of pressing National Importance. This matter is of concern to the Hon Prime Minister, with whose express authority I write this letter, both in his capacity as coprincipal ofGovernment, and as the head of the majority party in the Republic of Kenya.

In the past few days, as the six suspects prepare to make their maiden appearance in court, there has been a flurry of political activities by two of the suspects, specifically, William Samoei Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta.

In our opinion, and those of the majority of Kenyans, these developments are alarming and abhorrent. Inflammatory speeches have been made in vernacular, (copy enclosed) stoking memories of the 2007 violence they orchestrated. ODM
as a party, under the leadership of the Right Honorable PM, Raila Odinga, EGH, wishes to condemn these speeches.

We are a National party and view Kenya as acohesive society, and we do not accept that any Kenyan should make a speech on National TV in any other than a National language, of which only English and Kiswahili are recognized. ODM has always adhered to this principal of National identity.

We have a National Cohesion body tasked with taking firm action against such individuals, but it has time and again shown it's impotence in confronting individuals from the PNU wing of government.

In view of the lack of any other credible organization that can take remedial action, we hereby implore you, onthe behalf of the majority of Kenyans, to use your good offices to bring an end to this tribal crusade.

Our legal officers have unanimously opined that you have the power to seek the detention of these suspects if you can prove that they are promoting additional violence. The tape submitted herein and the translated transcript, provide you
solid evidence of this fact.

Although this particular tape is now in the public domain, we submit it, plus this letter, under the same confidentiality privilege under which we have been providing evidence against our errant party members who comprise two of your suspects and whose actions in the violence we abhor.

We trust that you will take up this matter with the same vigour you have consistently displayed against those who would destroy the fabric of our society, committing crimes against the innocent. It is our position that the security of Kenyans and ongoing reconciliation efforts would be compromised if these
warmongers are allowed to return home immediately.

Signed

Anyang' Nyongo
