NARC-K NEC Meeting

The NARC Kenya party wants the current Interim Independent Electoral Commission to be retained and form the planned new independent electoral and boundaries commission. The party's National Executive Committee which met says this is necessary to prevent the public distrust that followed the appointment of some commissioners to the defunct Electoral Commission of Kenya ahead of the 2007 polls and which contributed to the rejection of the 2007 general election results by some Kenyans. NARC Kenya Secretary General Danson Mungatana says the IIEC has done a good job in reforming electoral processes as was evident during the just concluded referendum and previous by-elections.
