City Council to be re-baptized

The City Council of Nairobi will, as of tomorrow, be known as the County of Nairobi. Town Clerk Phillip Khisia shared this peace of information, saying council workers should now uphold the newly imposed legislation and observe its provisions. He also sought to highlight that the council's operations will be financed by funds by tax payers' money.

Members of the City Council of Kenya have been urged to adapt to the new legislation to be appended tomorrow by the President, rebirthing the Council as the County of Nairobi. It is expected that with the new Constitution, the hierarchy of leaders itself may change, after the Ministry for Local Government reviews some of the laws.

Mr Khisia has given a stern warning to corrupt workers in the council, who fail to deliver in labour, while carrying out unauthorised searches around the city. He assured stakeholders (who are the residents of Nairobi) of the continued delivery of good service, and value for their money.

This change will be welcomed, and Nairobians must be curious to see if the unpopular council will either undergo, or better undertake, a change in their operations.
