Stop misleading Kenyans over law, Moi told

Retired President Moi has been asked to stop interfering with the constitutional matters since he failed to provide Kenyans with a new law do during his regime.

The director of the Committee of Experts, Ekuru Aukot said Mr Moi should be encouraging people to embrace this proposed constitution instead of playing with people’s minds.

He challenged him and other politicians to stop politicizing the proposed draft by creating myths about it that do not exist.

“Instead Mr Moi and other politicians in his camp should be creating awareness about the draft,” Dr Aukot who was speaking during a civic education session at a Nakuru hotel on Sunday said.

The civic education was organized by the business community.

Dr Aukot reassured them that their land will not be taken away if the proposed constitution is enacted.

He told them that the constitution is a negotiated treaty that was drafted with the presence of a cross section of people from various professions.

'The constitution cannot fit everyone’s needs. It can, however, be balanced to cater for everyone’s interest,” Dr Aukot said
