Kenya's PM still hospitalised

Prime minister Raila Odinga who has been recuperating at the Nairobi Hospital following a head surgery will still spend another day in hospital.

The PM was not discharged Saturday as anticipated after having spent five days at the Nairobi Hospital.

The premier underwent what the doctors described as a minor surgery on his head and they say he has been responding well to treatment.

The doctors had indicated that the PM would spend at least five days at the hospital recuperating and expectations were high that he would walk out of the facility Saturday.

But this was not to be as he will stay a while longer in hospital as doctors continue monitoring his situation.

The jovial looking Odinga has played host to several visitors at his hospital bed with the doctors initially restricting him to two hours per day for visitors to give him time to recover.

The premier underwent a minor head surgery on the left side of the head, to relieve a build-up of pressure near his brain.

Raila has been the towering figure in the Yes camp that is supporting the the proposed constitution and had the illness not taken a toll on him he would have been at Matuga this weekend to drum up support for ODM's candidate in the July 12 by-election.
