Kenyan VP calls for peace and stability

Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Kenyans to foster peace and avoid activities which may create hatred and animosity among themselves during the ongoing campaigns ahead of the August 4 referendum.

Mr. Musyoka at the same time urged Christians to continue praying for peace and stability to prevail especially now that the country is preparing for a referendum next month.

Speaking at the Christian Church International, Thika, when he attended the Sunday Service Sunday, Mr. Musyoka maintained that there is no bad blood between the church and state as far as the constitution making process is concerned.

The sermon was delivered by Bishop Joshua Gitonga.

Mr. Musyoka said there is no need for Kenyans to be divided during this referendum period saying the country will remain the way it is even after the referendum.

The Vice President said Kenyans should learn from the recent post election violence and live harmoniously among themselves and with their neighbors if we are to remain united as one people, one nation.

He said Kenyans are God fearing people who always seek for God's own will on matters affecting them.
