Kalonzo hits out at Ruto

Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka has hit out at the ‘No’ team for dragging his name into their campaign rallies.

An angry Kalonzo scoffed at Higher Education Minister William Ruto and some ODM-Kenya MPs, accusing them of engaging in trivial and naive politics aimed at discrediting and bringing disgrace on him. The VP said he had a mouth to speak for himself and nobody should pretend to be his spokesperson, adding the ‘No’ team conduct was cheap and malicious.

Kalonzo wondered why despite his assurance that he was firmly in the ‘Yes’ camp, Ruto and his brigade continued to spread propaganda that he was sending them with greetings to their supporters.

"This kind of bad politics of using my name mischievously must end. I want to warn those engaging in this that they must stop now," Kalonzo told a ‘Yes’ rally at Migwani market in Mwingi South Constituency.

The VP, who was accompanied by Defence Assistant Minister David Musila, also addressed other rallies at Kamuwongo and Kithyoko trading centres in Mwingi North and Masinga Constituencies.

Mr Musila told the Kamba community they stood to be doomed in national political arena if they voted against the document at the August 4 referendum.

  1. At last he has spoken for himself....better late than never....infact the VP should have stood firm against the Rutos claims long time ago. The VP has himself to blame for allowing the No team to use his name at will for all that long;his silence sent a wrong message to people. I hope his stand will now change the trend which the No camp had enjoyed for sometime.
