The country lost a whooping Sh23b in the maize scandal that incriminated powerful figures in government according to Former Minister Martha Karua.
Quoting a report released by the World Bank in December, Karua said that majority of the funds went to brokers including some MPs.
She said that despite evidence on the massive corruption, no one had been prosecuted so far.
Karua who is the Narc Kenya chairman said according to the report Kenya topped the list of countries in the world where Maize was the most expensive item.
Compared to Tanzania and Uganda she said the prize of maize in Kenya is five times higher with some individuals benefiting a lot.
Karua was speaking in Maraigushu Naivasha during the end of year party held at the home of former Naivasha Mp Jane Kihara.
On constitution, the former cabinet minister dismissed calls to have the Committee of Experts present two drafts for Kenyans to choose one.
She said the move would further spilt the country adding that she supported the presidential system.
She further hit out at the coalition government saying that it had failed Kenyans adding that corruption was still rife.
Others present during the party were assistant minister Asman Kamama, former Mps Waithaka Mwangi (Kinangop) and Patrick Muiruri (Gatundu North).
Kamama however differed with her party boss saying that the CoE should produce three draft copies for Kenyans to choose one.
