Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi has voiced support for Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale’s threats to quit Cord over recent wrangles with Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
Speaking in London on Saturday, Mudavadi said: “To my brother Khalwale, I remind him that home is best. He’s being reminded he’s a gatecrasher, and intruder,”
The ANC party leader further condemned an incident on Friday in which Khalwale and Kidero’s supporters clashed at the Milimani Law Courts.
The fight between the two groups broke out over a defamation suit filed by Kidero against the Kakamega senator for remarks he made regarding the woes at Mumias Sugar Ltd. A Star photojournalist was injured during the incident.
“It’s wrong to misuse youth to disrupt a court process. Courts like places of worship are sacrosanct. We are teaching youth bad manners to disobey the law in the long run. Soon, it will be anarchy”, Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi who is on an extended visit in London held talks with the Director of African Affairs in the UK Commonwealth office Nic Hailey today.
Hailey assured Kenya of the UK’s continued support in the fight against terrorism. “Kenya is an important social-political,economic and diplomatic hub in East Africa and a major tourist attraction for the British.
Our policy remains one of strengthening our strong historical diplomatic ties,”said Hailey. Mudavadi welcomed the UK government recognition of the importance on Kenya and England's diplomatic affairs.
