Cord leader Raila Odinga has said his team will not accept results of a flawed election in 2017. He said his victory has been stolen twice and “enough is enough”.
The former Prime Minister said poll results were doctored in 2007 and in 2013. “The other time [2013], we turned the other cheek, but we want to assure them [IEBC] that we are not going to turn the other cheek this time round,” Raila said on NTV on Sunday.
The opposition chief has launched an onslaught on the IEBC, especially after the latter launched its strategic plan against their wishes. Speaking during the show, Raila said the National Intelligence Service helped to rig in President Uhuru Kenyatta in the March 4, 2013 general election.
“NIS had access to critical electoral data and was in many ways involved in manipulation,” he said. Raila promised to release a dossier of the names allegedly deleted in the infamous List of Shame presented by Uhuru to Parliament. He said State House deleted names of several top government officials and cronies adversely implicated in graft.
Raila said some of the names removed from the graft list are officials from the National Treasury as well as IEBC officials implicated in the “Chickengate” scam. Raila said the EACC motion by Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa was private and was not sanctioned by Cord
