I'M SHOPPING TOO: Rachael Shebesh's husband, Frank Shebesh, and Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko shake hands at Nakumatt Lifestyle, Nairobi.
It was a rare encounter when Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko and Frank Shebesh, the husband to Nairobi County Women Representative Rachael Shebesh, met on Saturday afternoon at Nakumatt lifestyle.
The two bumped into each other as Frank was leaving Nakumatt and Sonko was exiting Tiara Jewelry shop along Monrovia Street within the CBD.
An initially surprise and confused encounter, the moment would within a fraction of a second, turn into delight as the two former ‘rivals’ from the point of intimacy smiled, joked, exchanged pleasantries and dollars as they embraced each other.
Frank was the first to spot Sonko and he called out “Senator vipi wewe?” Sonko then went to shake his hand and reached for his pocket and drew out some dollar notes and told Frank “hope uko mzima,” as he gave him the dollars.
The flamboyant City Senator with a team of well fed bouncers on all his sides, had gone to the shop to purchase a collection of gold and gold coated jewelry. He spent a total of Sh1.9 million on the rings.
Sonko said he always changes his rings and bling blings after every six months.
Frank on the other hand was leaving Nakumatt Supermarket and decided a hearty exchange and acceptance of dollars all rolled into one, makes overcast past brighter.
Sonko has in the recent past been accused of having an intimate relationship with Shebesh with details of their romantic escapades all rolled into the pictures they took. Claims Sonko rubbished.
However, their lovebird connection may have ended as they engaged in a bitter exchange a few months ago.
All this time, Rachael’s husband maintained a studious silence often defending his wife.
This industrious silence could be perhaps, the reason why there was no hate lost between the two men when they finally met in the public after a spate of extra-marital barbs were aimed at the Woman Rep.
