President Uhuru Kenyatta will receive a hero’s welcome when he returns from his United States tour in what has been dubbed a ‘diplomatic victory’ for him and his regime.
Leaked itinerary for the series of ceremonies indicates the president will inspect a full military parade at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and thereafter move in an open convoy to Muthurwa Market where he will inform local traders of the business deals he has clinched on their behalf.
Thereafter, the president is expected to chair a full coalition meeting of the Jubilee Alliance and also present to the ‘promises and pledges he has accrued as a result of the rare trip which comes only a month to the start of his 2007 post-election violence case at the International Criminal Court.
The President was accompanied by top government officials, businessmen and hangers on like Eugene Wamalwa – a former presidential hopeful whose nightmares for power are yet to find a final home in government via an appointment.
It is not clear what role Deputy President William Ruto will undertake throughout the political showmanship expected tomorrow.
