A Kwale politician  and TNA leaders in Mombasa have accused Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho of disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta and civil servants.
Richard Onsongo said it is disrespectful of the highest order for Joho to publicly call the president 'small person'  during iftar dinner hosted for Cord leader Raila Odinga in Mombasa on Monday night.
Joho is reported to have said that he is not threatened by the county commissioner Nelson Marwa who is 'a small person' and even his employer is 'a very small person'.
Joho did not name President Uhuru Kenyatta as that small person but many have claimed his statement was directed at Kenyatta.
Speaking in Ukunda on Wednesday Onsongo said that Joho should respect President Uhuru Kenyatta and his officer appointed by him.
He warned that such utterance made by Joho can result to bad blood between national government officials and county and also create animosity between leaders which is not good.
“The president was elected by majority of Kenyans and therefore it is not in order for the governor to disrespect him in whatever capacity he is,” said Osongo.
TNA leaders at the Coast also faulted  Joho for disrespecting Kenyatta.
The TNA leaders led by Abdhalla Mwaruwa, who vied for Mombasa governorship in the last general election, said it is unfortunate for Joho to make such remarks.
Mwaruwa told the press in Mombasa on Wednesday that Joho should realise that governorship is the supreme organ in the constitution.
He was accompanied by Sammy Gitau (Matatu Owners Association Mombasa chair), Mfaume Bakari (Likoni MP aspirant in the last election) and Samuel Wambugu.
