March 4 elections presidential candidate Martha Karua on Thursday engaged in a heated online exchange with Twitter user over claims by the defence of Deputy President William Ruto that Karua was among officials of the past regime who fixed him fixed him over the 2007 post-election violence, effectively landing him to the International Criminal Court.
The tweef (public argument on twitter ) that went on for hours saw Karua respond to all manner of tweets some supporting her while other implicated her for playing some role in the Post Election Violence.
A tweet from @KiptooKeror asked karua whether she was indeed the one who fixed Ruto, to which she replied “Alijiseti kwa vitendo” (His actions fixed him).
There were tweeps who told Karua that she should have been the one facing trial at The Hague and not Ruto.
@Tommanlinz1: tweeted “I think u should be one of those accused, will call ocampo and inform him.”
To which Karua responded, “Hurry up!”
The Narc Kenya chairperson stood her ground insiting that the thoso who found themselves tried at The Hague were as a result of the Waki Report which was passsed by the whole parliamnet.
“Every one must account for their deeds and for the accused it time to account not to look for scape goats !” Karua wrote.
On Wednesday Ruto’s counsel Shyamala Alagendra linked Interior Principal Secretary Mutea Iringo, Senior Poliitical Adviser to President Uhuru Nancy Gitau and Karua to the scheme to nail Ruto.- The Standard
