Gunmen shot dead a woman and seriously injured her brother-in-law along a Nairobi’s busy street at around 4pm Monday.
The two are said to have shopping for her wedding scheduled for this Saturday. Central OCPD Patrick Oduma said that the man was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition while the woman died on the spot. “The intention was not to steal and we are investigating a case of murder,” said Oduma.
The bridegroom who was also with them was not shot and he told the police that nothing was taken from them. The deceased woman was supposed to be wed her fiancé this Saturday at the Mathare SDA church
The three gunmen are said to have been trailing the two and as they entered Maru Italian Shoes, they confronted them and ordered them to raise up their hands before shooting the two. They then escaped towards Tom Mboya Street.
