The following JUDGES have OFFICIALLY lost their jobs after Vetting Board dismissed appeals

Saturday, the 23rd of March 2013 - The Judges and Magistrates vetting board has today dismissed the appeals of five judges who had previously been declared unfit to serve in the judiciary.

The vetting board said that the judges Muga Apondi, Joyce Khaminwa, Mary Angawa, Leonard Njagi and Murugi Mugo were still unsuitable to serve and that their appeals had no merit.

The High Court judges had appealed the Sharad Rao-led vetting board’s decision to declare them unsuitable and wanted their cases to be given another look.

However the vetting board today stuck to its earlier decision to send the judges home finding that only Justice Nicholas Ombija deserved to be vetted afresh.

The vetting board also declared judges Lucy Nyambura, Stephen Kibunjia, Lilian Mutende and Boaz Olao suitable to serve.

The vetting board however called for the sacking of magistrates Grace Nzioka, Rosemelle Mutoka and Ezra Odondi over bad temper and delayed rulings

The board said that Omondi in particular was corrupt and had previously accepted bribes to sway cases.
