Thursday March 14, 2013 - Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka have told President –elect- Uhuru Kenyatta that he is not yet sworn in as President and he should not receive intelligence and security briefs as he has been doing.
Speaking while meeting CORD winners in the just concluded election at the KICC on Wednesday, Raila told Uhuru that he is not officially sworn in and it was premature for him to receive intelligence briefing from security chiefs and the Head of Public Service.
“We still have a President. These people should hold their horses until a new President is sworn in,” Raila who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader said.
Kalonzo on his part said the coalition government is still in power with Prime Minister Raila Odinga still exercising powers as that of the President.
He said Raila has the power equal to President Kibaki, and Uhuru Kenyatta should not hoodwink Kenyans that he is the current President.
“Raila is still the Premier and I am the Vice President, according to the Constitution,” furious Kalonzo said.
