Thursday March 14, 2013 - President–elect Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a congratulatory message to Catholics all over the world for electing a new Pope Francis 1.
In his message on Thursday, Uhuru said as a member of Catholic Church, he expressed the joy of Kenyans in congratulating Pope Francis 1.

It is my joy on behalf of the Kenyan people and as member of the Catholic Church to congratulate Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the Archbishop of Buenos Aires on his election as Pope Francis 1.
The values of the Catholic Church; love for brother and love for service; reflected in Kenya’s own Anthem and Constitution have served the world well and history has shown us that where forgotten, humanity is undermined.
May you remain steadfast as you continue to champion those values that remind us all what is important and what is eternal. God speed.
