UHURU’s TNA candidate held in Ugandan POLICE station for beating up a CORD POLITICIAN




Monday 18th February 2013- A Teso North Parliamentary candidate on a TNA ticket is being held at a Ugandan police station after he assaulted his Kenyan colleague after a political dispute.

Gabriel Obashie attacked the colleague at a pub in Malaba –Uganda before stabbing him twice on the neck.

While confirming the attack, the Officer in charge of Malaba –Uganda police station Joseph Mwesije said that the suspect inflicted serious injuries to his colleague after they differed over politics.

Joseph explained that the two were in a pub drinking as they discussed politics when suddenly a quarrel ensued. He added that the aspirant stabbed his friend'sneck using pieces of a broken beer bottle after the victim expressed confidence that his party CORD alliance will carry the day come the March 4th General Elections.

It is said that the aspirant with the help of his supporters tried to escape after committing the crime but police arrived on time and arrested him.

The injured was rushed to Busia District Hospital.

The aspirant will be arraigned tomorrow in a Tororo court for assault.

Mwesije urged Kenyans to desist from immature politics, respect the Ugandan laws and shun political hooliganism that might break peace between the two countries.
