By Digital Reporter
Nairobi, Kenya: CORD presidential candidate Prime Minister Raila Odinga will campaign in Kiambu County next Tuesday.
Raila will traverse the county that is Jubilee Coalition presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta’s home turf.
According to Ezekiel Wafula of the CORD National Coordinating Committee, Raila will tour the area to drum up support for his presidential bid ahead of the March 4 elections.
Wafula called upon Uhuru to ask his supporters in the county to shun violence saying recently, CORD campaign convoys were attacked in the County.
“CORD is disturbed by the spate of violence by some criminal elements vetted on the CORD members at their rallies and meetings especially in the Mt. Kenya region,”Wafula said in the statement.
On Wednesday, the CORD campaign caravan was attacked by armed people in Ndumberi area, Kiambu and caused damage to the vehicles and trucks that were in the campaign trail.
“We call upon the Jubilee Presidential Candidate Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta to reign on his supporters and instill discipline in them. He must tell his people to respect divergent views and respect his competitors, said Wafula.
He said Kenya belongs to everyone and urged CORD supporters to continue maintaining peace and accord all the Presidential candidates a warm welcome whenever they campaign in their strongholds.
