Government footing for UHURU/ RUTO Hague fees - FRANKLIN BETT claims




Tuesday February 12, 2013 - The Kenya government is bankrolling The Hague fees for Jubilee alliance leaders who have been indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), Roads Minister Franklin Bett has claimed.

Speaking on Monday at the CORD’S secretariat headquarters in Nairobi’s Lavington, Bett said the government through the treasury is paying all the legal and accommodation fees for Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto who are facing ICC charges.

Bett said the two Jubilee leaders were colluding with Head of Public Service and secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia in robbing the taxpayers’ money by funding the two ICC suspects.

Bett, who is also the Bureti said, also said Kimemia is mobilising the provincial administration in supporting and campaigning for Jubilee alliance.

“We are all aware that the civil servants the civil servant code of conduct does not allow them to actively participate in politics. I want to urge Kimemia to keep off politics,” Bett said.
