Kenya is at crossroads – RAILA ODINGA

Tuesday, the 12th of February 2013 -Prime Minister Raila Odinga has told Kenyans that the country is currently at crossroads and voters will have to make an important decision on March 4th.

Raila, the flag bearer for the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD), made the comments while on the campaign stump in Ruaraka constituency. Alluding to the Biblical story of Jews wandering in the desert, Raila said that voters will have to choose between reforms and the status quo;

"The country is at a crossroads. People will decide on March 4 whether to return to Egypt or go to Canaan," said Raila.

"For 50 years, Kenyans have been meandering in the desert," he said.

Raila put forward his credentials as a reformer saying he worked with Kenneth Matiba, George Anyona, Charles Rubia and Martin Shikuku to bring multiparty politics to Kenya.
He promised that a CORD government would work to transform the country’s education, health and infrastructure sectors.

Raila was accompanied by a number of ODM’s candidates for various elective posts in Nairobi like Evans Kidero whose running for the Governorship post, Bishop Margaret Wanjiru (senate) and Tom Kajwang (Ruaraka parliamentary).
