RUTO’s URP turns around and says NO DEAL for now with UHURU’s TNA

Monday, the 22nd of October 2012 - The Kenyan DAILY POST has learnt through a source in William Ruto’s United Republican Party that the party has not yet struck a deal with Uhuru Kenyatta’s TNA despite reports to the contrary in some sections of the media.

The URP source said that the party was ‘just in talks’ with TNA “and free to do so with all parties'. The news comes as rumours of a possible Uhuru-Ruto ticket in the run up to the next election continues to gather steam.

Ruto has recently been relishing his new role of ‘king maker’ regularly whipping the media into a frenzy every time he has a meeting with ODM’s Raila Odinga , Uhuru or Musalia Mudavadi.

In related news, URP has revealed that it will hold its nominations on the 7th of January 2013. That date could smack as opportunistic to some because it will put the party in a perfect position to absorb defectors from parties like TNA and ODM who will have already held their nominations.

More on this story to follow.
