Students of Ngala Girls' Memorial High School have been sent home after some of them got a hysterical attack on Wednesday. Malindi district education officer said students will be called to sit exams.
“We will hold a meeting as soon as possible to get a solution to this issue. We will then call students to come back to school,” she said. The school with 450 students, was on Wednesday closed indefinitely following ‘demonic attacks’ on the students.
Most of those affected are form four students. School principal Mercy Mwasamba is alleged to be behind the attacks. However, Mwasamba has disputed claims of being involved in devil worshiping.
Speaking to journalists during a KCSE briefing in Malindi, Mwasamba said the allegations are meant to taint her image. Sobbing, the principal said that only God knows that she was not a devil worshiper.
“It is hurting for students to accuse me of being a devil worshiper. I have not done anything like that. I have put my defense with God. God has my testimony,” she said.
Mwasamba said the claims are directed to her because she was transferred from Mbaraki Girls’ High School in Mombasa which was also being attacked by hysteria.
