MUDAVADI says UHURU is paying UDF members to defect to TNA

Friday October 19, 2012 - Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has expressed fury over Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s move of “buying” UDF party members.

On Thursday, a War of words erupted between Mudavadi’s and Uhuru’s camps where the former accused Uhuru of throwing money to UDF councillors from Vihiga, who travelled to Nairobi on Wednesday to defect to Uhuru’s party The National Alliance. (TNA).

Through his Director of Communications, Kibisu Kabatesi, Mudavadi said TNA was engaging in mischief by trying to raid Mudavadi’s turf through their power of money, but said their mission would fail.

“TNA must not imagine that money will buy them support. For every unorthodox action surely will be a chain reaction and regrets. You cannot steal from a friend,” Kabatesi said.

But TNA  through it Secretary General  Onyango Oloo dismissed  Mudavadi’s assertions urging him not to panic because Uhuru’s team intends to raid the  stronghold  of  rival presidential aspirants as well.

“We are not sparing any area in our campaigns and our competitors, be they are friendly parties or not, should brace for our onslaught,”Oloo said.

Mudavadi is aspiring for the Presidency under UDF while Uhuru is the TNA flag bearer in the race to State House.
