I can NEVER be RAILA’s running mate - KALONZO

Sunday October 28, 2012 - Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed media reports that there is a coalition pact in offing between him and Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Musyoka, who is also Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party leader, said his party has clear ways of instituting coalition talks and laughed off media speculations that he could be working with Raila Odinga.

The VP said if there were any substantive talks between his party and any other, he would always talk about in the open.

“I have not lost my voice. I would speak out. But such discussions must be participatory and done through the right channel,” Musyoka said.

Kalonzo further said that his party was still in talks with Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta’s, The National Alliance (TNA) and the United Republican Party (URP) of Eldoret North MP William Ruto.

“I have made friends and partnerships and it is only friendly to maintain that,” the VP said.
Kalonzo’s remarks came amid reports by Kangundo MP and Government Chief Whip Johstone Muthama on Thursday, that the VP and PM are forming a formidable alliance ahead of the upcoming poll.

Kalonzo termed Muthama’s remarks as “personal” and not representing WDM party or its members.
