Thursday October 18, 2012- Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga has expressed disappointment over the judicial officer who authored the Sh 400 million tender for his official residence.
A credible source within the corridors of judiciary told the DAILY POST, that the CJ believes the officer not only overlooked the background of the tender, but also exaggerated the details to paint him in bad light.
The humble CJ rejected a State offer to rent a Sh 1 million mansion and opted to continue living in Anyang’ Nyong’o’s house.
Sources close to the CJ said, said Dr Mutunga also rejected the building of the palatial residence fearing another scandal may emerge in the construction.
Mutunga avoided, Muthaiga, Runda, Karen and Lavington areas and is now living in a middle class estate in Nairobi.
