Twice, MPs have withdrawn an adjournment motion which will see them take time out to rest at the last minute. The latest of such act was last Thursday when they were due to adjourn until next month, before embarking on penultimate stage of their term in the House. Although corridors commends MPs for their sudden burst of energy to work hard after years of pussy-footing on constitutional implementation, we are aware that a section of members are fearful of going back to their constituencies a few months before the electioneering process starts. One of them was overheard telling his colleague that he does not want to spend all his money on his constituents before the actual campaign starts and would rather be in Nairobi until when the campaigns are declared.

A member from Gusiiland has of late literally been camping at Prime Minister Raila Odinga's office. The man, according to our mole, wants to be seen to be closer to the Premier as he seeks to control the Gussi region elbowing senior politicians. Many are wondering whether the member works in the PM's office as he is a regular at the BP and Shell House.

An MP has left the Kenyatta National Hospital in a spin. The member recently visited the facility and undertook what doctors described as “Magnetic Resonance Imaging” of the pelvic abdominal region. However, the member, who believes in universal healthcare system, failed to settle the bill, leaving the managers at the hospital wondering whether they should bill Parliament or the insurer. Corridors is wondering how the member intends to settle the bill considering that there are Kenyans who are detained for non payment of hospital bills.
