Sunday October 28, 2012 - It seems Nyanza region is fast nurturing violence hot spots.
The latest was a near lynching of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Prof Anyang Nyong’o who had to flee from a burial ceremony in Muhoroni constituency.
Sensing danger Muhoroni MP Ayiecho Olweny who accompanied the Medical Services Minister, also took off from angry mourners who were baying for Nyongo’s blood over looming ODM nominations.
Mourners who had turned up in thousands attended the function to bury the deceased.
There was a romour that Nyong’o had attended the burial to endorse Prof Olweny over his rival Mr Onyango K’Oyoo who appeared to be the favourite ODM candidate in the area.
