Prime Minister Raila Odinga's ODM may not revoke the nomination of  MP Rachel Shebesh after  she defected to Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta's TNA.  According to insiders, ODM is not considering the move, since it has not revoked that of Sofia Abdi who is an ally of Eldoret North MP William Ruto.
"Did we revoke the nomination of Sofia Abdi? Then why Shebesh?" the ODM insider told the Star. Yesterday, ODM secretary general Anyang Nyongo refused  to state the party's position only insisting; "We have not received her official letter." Acting Registrar of political parties Lucy Ndungu said her office can not rely on media reports to take any action against Shebesh.
"Have you seen her talk? Call her and let her say that she has defected," Ndungu said when asked if her office considered Shebesh's presence at a TNA retreat as 'defecting'. The Political Parties Act stipulates that 'any member who actively promotes the activities of a rival party or publicly advocates for a formation for another party will be deemed to have resigned."

  1. We are in a democratic and free country.
Shebesh has all the rights of moving out to TNA or any other party, but let her speak, don't speak for her.

    To you Lady Shebesh...................
