Prime Minister Raila Odinga promised Saturday the government will unearth the cause of the chopper crash that killed Kajiado North MP George Saitoiti, his assistant Orwa Ojode and four police officers.
Odinga was in the constituency campaigning for the ODM candidate in the September By-elections also urged for peace in the by elections.
He made stopovers at various centers in   Kajiado north constituency  urging area  residents to uphold  unity  even as they head towards the September 17th by election, saying as a cosmopolitan community  they should elect  someone who  will be  a unifying  leader.
The PM who is also the ODM party leader introduced the party's candidate in the September  by election Eng. Peter ole Mositet  to the people  saying  he was the best placed person to take over the leadership mantle  in Kajiado North.
He hit out at tribalism saying it was a major impediment to the unity and  progress in the country, adding  Kenyans should be wary of anyone who is relying on their tribe to ascend to any leadership position in the country.
Noting that tribalism bred hatred, the PM made it clear that the twin vices were  a recipe for chaos  and must be shunned by all peace loving and progressive Kenyans.
He said, "What will take Kenya forward is our unity in diversity, Kenyans should therefore not elect leaders on account of tribe but because of their track record in development."
Elsewhere, Odinga's his former ally now turned foe Musalia Mudavadi was in Cheptais Mt. Elgon promising better government policies to develop the region largely undeveloped as a result of insecurity.
Separately GNU party leader Mwangi Kiunjuri speaking in Kenol Muranga County hit out at the IEBC for setting what he says are exorbitant prices as nomination fees.
The GNU governing council threatened legal action against IEBC over what they say are exorbitant fees set by the commission as nomination fees which will lock out many aspirants
Presidential candidate Professor James Ole Kiyapi kept the pressure while touring Karai in kikuyu constituency after his Friday's tour of Naivasha urging Kenyans to vote in leaders of integrity.
And lands minister James Orengo contesting for governor in his home county, is urging MP's to consider extending the August 27 deadline to pass the leadership and integrity bill to ensure the final draft is polished and acceptable to all.
