PHILIP Moi pays Sh8.1 million to PLUDA

Thursday August 9, 2012 - Former President Moi’s son, Philip Moi has paid his estranged wife Rosanna Pluda Moi Sh8.1 million as part of alimony charges. A source has revealed to the DAILY POST.

Philip Moi agreed to pay the money after the two entered into an agreement outside the court, where he agreed to pay Sh 8,190,000 through a banker’s cheque.

Philip also agreed to pay another Sh 250,000 per month with the next payment due for September 1.

On Wednesday, jubilant Pluda said she has been traumatised in the struggle to get justice for herself and her children.

“I want to thank all those Kenyans who stood by me. It is vindication that we, irrespective of our status are all equal under the law,” Pluda said.

Moi and Pluda have been in a fierce court battle where the court has issued several warrants of arrest due to Moi’s highhandedness.

Pluda’s lawyer Judy Thongori, who received the cheque on behalf of her client, thanked our court system saying that the country has now a working judiciary.

She thanked Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga saying he has brought sanity to our court system and equality to all Kenyans.
