Late Michuki's widow laid to rest

Late Josephine Watiri passed on Friday last week.She was battling cancer.
The late wife of the late Environment Minister John Michuki,   Josephine Watiri was laid to rest Wednesday at the family's Kangema home in Murang'a County.
The burial service was held at Kiangunyi Catholic Church and later the body was laid to rest at the Kangema home.
She was survived by six children and several grandchildren.
Several high ranking government officials led by President Mwai Kibaki also attended the burial ceremony.
While addressing the mourners President Kibaki urged the family of the late Michuki not to fight for his wealth.
Kibaki noted that the family should not listen to inciters who might cause family divisions.
He said there is no need for the family to start fighting over what their parents have left for them.
Meanwhile the president kept off the national issues and only insisted on peacefully coexistent between the Michuki children.
He added that the family should remain united as they have been when there parents were alive
The late Josphine Michuki died six months after her husband's death which occurred in February at the Aga Khan Hospital following multiple organ failure. She was battling cancer.
Mourners remembered the late widow for her humility, dedication and influence especially in Kangema where her husband was the Member of Parliament.
Her political influence was felt once again in the area after she endorsed a candidate for the coming Kangema by-election.
Many eulogized her as loving, kind hearted and a resilience woman who was at ease with both the rich and poor despite her wealth.
The church eulogized the late Josephine as a God fearing person who will be remembered for her efforts in helping build churches in the region.
Among the high government delegation during the burial included, Presidential candidate Raphael Tuju, Deputy prime ministers Uhuru Kenyatta and Musalia Mudavadi, acting Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia, ministers Jamleck Kamau Eugene Wamalwa , Naomi Shabaan,  Joe Nyaga, Kiraitu Murungi and Medical Services ‘Anyangi Nyongo.
Others included assistant Ministers Ferdinard Waititu,head of civil service Francis Kimemia,Ambassador Kembi Gitura among other diginatiries including several members of parliament.
